<![CDATA[Drytac's DES- 4 Edge Finishing System Is Already Turning a Profit for Their Printing and Frame Shop Customers]]> http://www.drytac.ca/news/drytacs-des--4-edge-finishing-system-is-already-turning-a-profit-for-their-printing-and-frame-shop-customers Richmond, VA -When Jimmy Keith of Keith Fabry in Richmond, Virginia received a preview of the new Drytac Edge Finishing System (DES-4), he placed an order on the spot.

According to Jimmy “All companies in the sign, graphics and display business like using (foam) boards such as Gatorfoam, Recycled Re-Board and others , but the issue is always how to finish the edges of the board to make them look good”. Sure you can use black p.s. tape but this is very time consuming and still does not look great and plastic framing products are pretty expensive”.

"With this new system I can finish boards printed on my OCE 250GT Flatbed printer and as well as edge finish boards from my mounting and laminating department”.

Black has been the most popular edge color but also contrasting colors such as red and wood veneer have done well with retail, commercial accounts, trade show displays and even museum exhibits. Drytac edge finishing system is able to apply a clean edge in a variety of colors to boards such as GatorFoam, Re-Board, Sintra and other many other boards.

The key is the proprietary Edge Secure ™ glue used to adhere the edging as well as many unique design features on the DES-4 such as high speed cameras that monitor the board. Profitable: “The Edge finishing system allows us to stock fewer types of boards, no need to stock boards with varying foam core colors or face liners, since they the will be covered by the edging".

While Keith Fabry declined to discuss specific product pricing, according to Drytac’s website, The Drytac edge tape (Black, white, gold, red, wood, etc.) with glue cost between 15 and 20 cents a linear foot and is recommended retail is $1.50-$2.00 a foot. The machine itself is listed just under $30k. Environmentally friendly: Since the edge of boards finished with the DES-4 all look similar you can increase the usage of recycled and/or biodegradable boards.

The new finishes include a natural maple wood veneer and a kraft paper finish. The natural maple finish wood veneer is both compostable and recyclable and can be stained, painted or coated with a clear acrylic finish. The kraft paper finish is made of two layers of paper thermally fused together to give it the rigidity needed to apply it to a variety of display boards.

This edging can also be painted with low VOC paint if desired.“With the growing use of eco-friendly boards like Re-Board by Design Force, there was a lot of requests for edging materials that do not take away from the eco-friendliness and natural look of these types of display boards,” says Jerry Hill, Drytac’s vice president of sales and marketing.

The wood veneer and kraft paper edging materials complement a line of Drytac edge materials for the DES-4 that are stocked in a wide variety of colors and in widths ranging from 3/8-inch to 1 ¾-inches.

<![CDATA[Drytac Introduces a Decide When Not to Pay Lease]]> http://www.drytac.ca/news/drytac-introduces-a-decide-when-not-to-pay-lease Richmond, VA, - To better help customers manage their cash flow, Drytac introduces a leasing program that allows the customer to NOT pay up to five (5) monthly payments during a 48 month lease. The payments are not added to the end of the lease term so the client is only making a total of 43 monthly payments and interest rates are not inflated for this program.

“The thought behind this promotion is that we have many customers interested in our liquid UV coaters, laminators, and other equipment but are hesitant to commit because they are afraid they may have slow months in which they may have difficulty making payments”, says Drytac’s Spokesperson. “This lease gives them the ability to forecast and skip up to two payments in a row and a total of five.”

According to the company, the new leasing program also gives the customers time to build up business for any new equipment they purchase from Drytac.

Rates for the program will vary depending on lease term, and other qualifications. The customer will have the option to buy out their lease at the end of the term for only one dollar.

The lease program is scheduled to run from now till March 31, 2009 and is administered through a third party and not everyone will qualify.
